What does an Engineer Technician do?

An Engineering Technician applies proven techniques and procedures to the solution of practical engineering issues. They can demonstrate learning to NVQ/SVQ level 3 or similar.

Who can apply for EngTech registration?

You can apply for this if:

·        Having done an advanced or modern apprenticeship course the institution has approved.

·        Already have registration as an EngTech with another institution.

·        Having suitable work experience or qualifications.

·        Are a student with two years of an engineering degree plus a year’s appropriate industrial work experience.

Education and knowledge:

Although you are not required to have any formal qualifications, you are required to have knowledge and understanding of technical matters to NVQ/SVQ level 3 or equivalent.
