CIOB Professional Development Programme
The Professional Development Programme, which is also called PDP, is for those graduates or students who are working in the industry and want to progress to CIOB Chartered Membership.
This program helps to develop and evaluate
occupational competency within a framework of support from your employer and a
CIOB-approved assessor.
Generally, it takes between one and three
years to complete this program, which is dependent on your circumstances and
employer. During this time, you will assemble an online portfolio of work by
which you can show that you fulfill the eligibility criteria across 12 units,
including project planning and managing safety, health, and welfare in the
workplace.
If you complete the PDP, you will be exempt
from the CIOB Professional Review.
This is following a Final Assessment by a membership panel, and you will be
able to use the MCIOB designation.
The Professional Development Programme
competencies are generic and can be applied to many different roles in the
industry and all construction disciplines.
Taking up the PDP shouldn’t be a bar to
transferring between job roles. It can even be beneficial for those who take up
the program by providing an opportunity for a wider experience.
You
will be able to get yourself registered for the PDP if you are a:
·
Graduate with a
construction-related honors degree, which includes a non-recognized degree.
·
